I can't see the content editor
Up to Table of ContentsThis FAQ applies to: 2.0, 2.1, 2.5
I'm editing a page, and everything looks the way you describe in the Quick Start tutorial, but I don't see the toolbar above the main text on my page. What's wrong?
There are three likely problems causing there to be no content editor:
- You're using a browser that doesn't work with Plone's editing interface. Safari for Macintosh is known to cause this problem when using the Kupu visual editor.
- You need to enable the toolbar (which is likely named either "Kupu" or "Epoz" (other options exist, but are infrequent in use); the origins of bizarre software names are beyond the scope of this site :-). Click on My Preferences in "personal" toolbar at the top (as described here), and then click "Personal Preferences". In the next page, make sure that in the dropdown menu under "Content Editor", "Epoz" or "Kupu" is selected.
Note: Unless instructed otherwise, it's recommended that you use the "Kupu" editor, which is the preferred editor for Plone. - Should you attempt to follow through step #2 and find only the option of "Basic HTML textarea editor (works in all browsers)" it is likely that no visual editors are enabled for your site. Please use the contact information in address footer at the bottom of this page.
