Adding a News Item
This How-to applies to:
2.1
How to add a news item to your site
- Go to the folder where you're going to keep your news postings. This will often be a folder simply called News.
- Click
Add Item and then click News Item.
- Enter
a Title and Description. For
example, your title might be “Local Business is Booming.”
- In the
Body Text box, type the news. You can format your text with bullets,
headings, and bold or italic text.
- Click
Save. Your new page is now a Public Draft.
- Next
to State, click Public Draft, and then select Publish from the drop-down menu. Your news item is now in its most accessible state, called Public.
-
Suppose you want to make sure the news item appears only for one month on
the site (after that, it isn’t news!). Click
the Properties tab to sent an expiration date.
- In the
Expires field, select a date in the future, when you want this news item to disppear. Plone will automatically stop
displaying content once it has expired.
- Click
Save.
Your news item should now appears in the News listing and is available to
anonymous site visitors
